What We Love About the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500

A grey 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X AEV off-roading after leaving a GMC dealer.

The GMC Sierra 1500 is GMC’s light-duty, full-size pickup. We, however, don’t think there is anything “light” about this truck, and we mean that as a compliment. It could certainly compete with heavy hitters in the categories of comfort, style, technology, safety, and performance. In fact, JD Power named it the "Best Large Duty Pickup" in 2021. It got high rankings in quality and reliability, durability, and resale value (it actually got very high ratings for resale value, making it a solid investment). As a GMC dealer, we regularly welcome customers interested in this impressive pickup. Some are long-time, loyal Sierra 1500 drivers. Others have seen the truck, are curious about it, and want to learn more. No matter which camp you are in, we’re always excited to talk about this truck.

If we had to choose one thing we love the most about the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500, it would have to be its versatility. Within that, there are actually tons of things we love — that’s what makes it so versatile. Drivers can build the truck of their dreams thanks to all of the different features you can choose and configure in this pickup. We consistently sell GMC Sierras to every type of driver, from parents needing an everyday truck to contractors needing a highly capable pickup. Here is a close look at just how versatile the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is.

Available Selectable Traction Modes

Depending on how you use your truck, you might need the power to tackle a range of terrain on a regular basis. Plus, we know that if you live anywhere in the state of Michigan, you definitely need to be able to drive in snow. That’s why we love the available selectable traction modes. When you have this feature, you can quickly push a button, and your vehicle will make in-the-moment adjustments to adapt to the terrain you’re on. The modes available will depend on the model you purchase and the equipment you might choose. All of the available modes are as follows:

Tour Mode

Tour mode is what you’ll likely spend most of your time in. It’s ideal for everyday driving, as it’s designed to optimize fuel efficiency and prioritize a comfortable ride.

Sport Mode

Sport mode is for those looking to do some spirited driving. The system makes adjustments to the steering responsiveness, dampers, and suspension for a fun behind-the-wheel experience.

Terrain Mode

Terrain mode gives you automatic braking and makes adjustments to help you stay in command if you’re driving over constantly changing surfaces.

Off-Road

The off-road mode will boost traction and handling in unpredictable conditions, like gravel or sand environments.

Snow Mode

Snow mode will only be available on two-wheel drive models. It’s designed to give you more control on slippery roads by adjusting braking and torque response.

Tow/Haul

When in tow/haul mode, the vehicle will automatically remain at a low gear for improved torque when trailering or towing.

Four Engine Options

We particularly love the range of engine options for 2024 Sierra 1500 drivers. Today, pickups aren’t just for work sites or off-roading. Some drivers use them for family life. Others need them to travel to work sites on some days and the grocery store on others. Of course, there will always be drivers who need a pickup for serious towing and hauling just at work sites. There’s an engine for everyone in this year’s lineup.

The 2.7L TurboMax I-4 will be the default engine for most trims. It has a solid towing ability of over 9,400 lbs and gets great fuel economy on the city and highway, whether you opt for a rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive model. Those needing to handle some light towing and trailering but also need a good everyday truck will do well with this starting engine. Drivers who need more oomph in the towing department but don’t want to see a drastic dip in fuel economy can jump up to the next engine, the 5.3L V8. It gets drivers just over 11,200 lbs of towing power. Its fuel economy won’t be right for long drives, but is perfect for trips around town.

Next up is the 6.2L V8, which gets you up to 13,000 lbs of towing power. Naturally, you will see a dip in fuel economy. However, if you need a truck with serious towing abilities that will mostly move around a job site, this is a great choice. Finally, if you don’t want to sacrifice power or fuel efficiency and need a good deal of both, there’s the 3.0L DuraMax Turbo-Diesel I-6. It combines the fuel economy you get from diesel fuel with towing abilities that trump those of the 6.2L V8. If you have to travel far between job sites and tow a lot when you get there, this is the engine for you.

An Array of Trim Options

We cannot emphasize enough just what a diverse group of shoppers pick up a Sierra 1500 from us. We have the truck’s incredible range of trims to thank for that. Drivers looking for a serious work truck with no frills can get the starting level Pro trim. It’ll have all the features and powers that contractors, agricultural workers, and similar professionals need to tackle daily jobs. Then there are the off-road-ready trims, with the AT4 and AT4X. Drivers looking for that ideal truck to explore off the beaten path without coming back with a beaten-up truck should check out these trims.

Luxury lovers can even find something they want in the Denali and newer Denali Ultimate trims. With premium materials and phenomenal comfort and convenience features, these trims transform what people think of pickups. Between the basic, off-road, and luxury trims, there are other trims that sample a little bit of the others. There’s a lot to explore in this trim lineup, and that’s why so many different types of drivers love the 2024 Sierra 1500.

Experience the Divine in the 2027 Buick Enclave

While SUVs have become popular among commuters, only Buick offers luxury-appointed models at a lower price. Among Buick's most favored models is the Enclave. With three rows of seating and multiple luxury-appointed amenities, it's single-handedly merging practicality and posh. If you're thinking about a 2027 Buick Enclave, you can test drive one today at our location. At LaFontaine Buick GMC Dearborn, we're your trusted Buick dealer near Detroit. We have the new Enclave and offer a shopping experience that's on par with Buick's refinement and sophistication. Join us as we take a close look at the advantages an Enclave has to offer. We'll look at its performance, the luxury-adorned interior, and the technologies that ensure safety and connectivity. Luxury for Less A key advantage of Buick is its dedication to offering luxury-appointed SUVs at affordable prices. The Enclave's starting MSRP of just $46,900 [a] makes it an affordable alternative to similar vehicles from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. Performance They don't call it the Motor City for nothing. Detroit drivers enjoy having vehicles with plenty of performance. The Enclave is equipped with a powertrain that balances conservative fuel consumption with exhilarating performance. Firing on Four Cylinders All Enclave models come with a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine that pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain delivers peppy acceleration, producing 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque. While the Enclave is built with refinement in mind, it still offers remarkable capability. When properly equipped, the engine allows for a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. Agile and Exquisite Handling In addition to its impressive performance, the Enclave possesses the agile handling that many luxury vehicles do. The Preferred and Sport trims come with a sport-tuned suspension, while the Avenir offers continuous damping. Front-wheel drive is standard on the Enclave, with available all-wheel drive for better traction on icy roads and in recreational activities. Fuel Economy While luxury-oriented vehicles are often geared towards performance, the Enclave delivers everything you would expect without sacrificing fuel economy. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models achieve 20 MPG in the city, 25 MPG on the highway, and 22 MPG combined. Interior Space Getting behind the wheel of the Buick Enclave means entering a world of practicality and posh. Its interior is adorned with multiple luxury-appointed amenities that offer a refined commute. Buick's SUV never loses sight of offering Detroit drivers the pragmatic aspects they seek—such as comfortable seating and storage. Seating The Buick Enclave accommodates seven passengers in total thanks to its second-row captain's chairs. Buick emphasizes luxury in its seating arrangements. Heated front seats are standard across all trims, and the Avenir trim offers both heating and ventilation. It also receives heated rear seats for a more refined and comfortable experience. Storage In addition to comfortable seating, the Enclave offers generous cargo arrangements for Detroit drivers. Regardless of what you need to transport, you'll have more than enough room. Depending on how much room you need, seats can be folded to accommodate more space. 22.9 cu.ft. of cargo room when all three rows of seats are occupied 57.1 cu.ft. behind the second row 97.5 cu.ft. of space behind the front row The Enclave also comes with the AutoSense power liftgate on all trims. The automated feature makes loading, unloading, and access to cargo easier than ever. Comfort Amenities Complimenting the pragmatic aspects of seating and storage are items that offer sophistication and refinement. These items ensure a comfortable experience, putting Detroit drivers in the lap of luxury. Tri-zone climate and rear controls are standard across all three trims. The Enclave also comes with QuietTuning. The technology keeps road and engine noise out of the cabin, ensuring that every commute is calm and quiet. Connectivity Tech The Buick Enclave's interior offers much more than creature comforts and the pragmatic aspects of the SUV class. In an age where drivers need to stay connected, Buick accommodates this basic need. From an expansive infotainment screen to high-end stereo systems, you'll enjoy every minute you're behind the wheel. Touchscreen Interface Drivers access apps and other technologies through their vehicle's infotainment system. The Enclave features an impressive 30-inch setup that provides high-resolution imagery and access to a wide array of items. The screen can be configured with multiple user profiles for a highly personalized experience. The Enclave provides drivers with navigation, wireless charging, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A major benefit is that Google is built into the infotainment system. You'll have access to music, maps, profiles, and more, all thanks to the world's most advanced search engine. Audio Excellence In addition to connectivity and the Enclave's infotainment system, Buick's SUV offers concert-quality audio options. Base trims of the Buick Enclave come with a 12-speaker Bose stereo system. Discerning audiophiles will prefer the top-tier Avenir trim's Bose Performance audio system, which includes a subwoofer and 16 speakers. In addition to its stereo systems, all Enclave models come with Active Noise Cancellation. The feature is designed to keep unwanted noise out of the cabin, allowing commuters to enjoy their favorite music and podcasts even more. Driver Assistance A three-row SUV like the Buick Enclave is a favorable option for many family-oriented commuters. Families in Detroit value safety in their vehicles. Buick equips the Enclave with a suite of advanced driver assistance technologies that provide protection and oversight. More than being a luxury-appointed vehicle, the Enclave is a safe one. These features give you peace of mind when you're on the road. Technology Package The Technology Package comes standard on all Enclave models. It features many advanced driver assistance features, including: Adaptive Cruise Control HD Surround Vision Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning Rear Pedestrian Alert Side Bicyclist Alert Traffic Sign Recognition Super Cruise One of the most advanced features available for the 2027 Buick Enclave is Super Cruise. GM's semi-autonomous hands-free driving tool is ahead of the curve in innovation. Super Cruise features hundreds of thousands of pre-programmed roads across North America. In addition to its hands-free capability, Super Cruise can also assist with automatic lane changes and reduce driver fatigue. Consider the Super Cruise Package The Super Cruise Package (standard on the Avenir but available on the Preferred and Sport Touring) includes the advanced technology and other items for an immersive driving experience. Additional items include Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and Driver Attention Assist. But despite receiving only minor changes this year, the 2024 Terrain is loaded with industry-leading technology that is sure to change the way you drive for the better. The 2024 Terrain does a great job of delivering a roomy, comfortable cabin that surrounds drivers with the newest technology and assistance features that GMC has to offer. It’s been described by GM President Mark Ruess as "one of the most beautiful SUVs in that segment." This is a little SUV that is big on innovation. Want to stay connected? Or do you want your SUV to have you back when you need it? Get behind the wheel of a new Terrain and experience a better way to drive in 2024. Smart and User-Friendly The Terrain isn’t just a beautiful face. This compact ride features a thoughtful design that makes it easy for drivers to feel comfortable and access their tech without the headache. Even those who aren’t the most tech-savvy will enjoy the ease of the Terrain’s smart setup. Its cabin was designed to be more like a command center, with wide screens that feature clear, easy-to-use menus. This vehicle’s instrument cluster makes it simple for drivers to keep an eye on essential information—and for increased convenience, the available Head-Up Display system casts that same information onto your windshield for easy viewing. This customizable feature displays essential info like your speed, current drive mode, engine RPM, and more. Drivers can check the latest speed limit or audio level without taking their eyes off the road. The display can be adjusted to meet your height, change which information is shown, and you can even rotate the image. The 2024 Terrain is all about helping you drive safer and smarter. The main digital infotainment screen is located within easy reach of the driver. We appreciate how artfully this screen flows across the dashboard. Its understated design adds a touch of modern elegance to the interior. When drivers upgrade to the high-end Denali trim, they unlock an expanded 8.0-inch version. Available High-Definition Surround Vision helps drivers see around them when it’s most important. This system employs multiple cameras to concoct an overhead view of your vehicle and the surrounding area, which can aid in parking, backing up, or checking to ensure there are no nearby objects. With this system, drivers can also cycle through up to seven cameras, including front and rear views, or—if equipped—even a Hitch View to make attaching a trailer quicker and easier. GMC streamlined its tech to make it easy for drivers to set up their home screen and customize it with personalized profiles to fit their preferences. You can enable settings to automatically update essential information like date and time, which is great news for preoccupied drivers who take a month to update their clocks after daylight savings time. You can also equip your infotainment system to download apps or keep track of your favorite audio. The all-new Terrain is smart, simple, and anything but basic. Connectivity You Can Count On The Terrain makes it possible to partner with your vehicle for a rewarding drive that can be tailored to fit your needs. If you’re not the most tech-savvy, don’t worry; it’s straightforward to sync your smartphone with your vehicle for a completely streamlined experience that will have you scrolling, tapping, and swiping like a pro in no time. Drivers can connect using either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. When you connect your phone, it’s possible to go hands-free when sending or receiving messages. This is great if you’re in the car more often than not but still want to connect with work or family in a safe yet practical way. Syncing your phone also opens up features like Google Maps for easy navigation. To free themselves from wires, drivers can upgrade to the high-end AT4 or Denali trim to access wireless capability for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. If you’re someone who just wants to get in, set their phone down, and go, opting to go wireless is one of the best ways to do this. Leveling up to the Denali trim delivers a standard wireless charging pad, too, for boosting your phone’s battery while you drive. Connect with a friendly voice when you go for available Amazon Alexa. The familiarity of this tech is helpful for drivers on the go. With Alexa, not only can you go hands-free, but you can connect with at-home devices, check on Amazon orders, and even add things to your shopping list—or you can keep it casual and simply ask Alexa to stream your favorite playlist or switch the radio station. Need to make a call? Just say, "Hey, Alexa," and you can consider it done. Alexa is like an extra set of hands when yours are busy and the world won’t wait. A Remote Access Plan is available when you want an advanced connection with your vehicle. With this plan, you can use your smartphone to lock or unlock doors, check your fuel levels, and even start your vehicle remotely with just a tap on your screen. The Remote Access Plan is conveniently located on the myGMC mobile app, so you can stay connected with your Terrain even when you’re out and about. Safe, Convenient, & Cool The Terrain is designed for life, which means including plenty of handy features inside the cabin as well as out. The hands-free programmable liftgate is one example of smart tech designed to help out when your plate is full. This available advanced feature opens up your tailgate with a light kick under the bumper. The coolness doesn’t stop there. The standard GMC Pro Safety package is loaded with six driver assistance systems that work with you when you’re tackling a busy parking lot, hectic traffic, or a shadowy blind spot. Emergency braking systems can help lessen or avoid a collision, while IntelliBeam takes the worry out of night driving. With GMC Pro Safety, you never have to drive alone. For additional driver assistance technology, drivers can either upgrade with the available GMC Pro Safety Plus package or get it standard when they pick the AT4 or Denali trims. This suite builds on the original package, offering advanced awareness with Lane Change Alert w/ Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Park Assist. The Terrain Is Tech-Terrific! Comfort isn’t just about physical luxury; it's about feeling confident and supported when you’re on the road. Having the latest tech is no good if you can’t figure out how to use it or if it stresses you out trying, but the Terrain has solved this issue, offering a brilliant collection of helpful tools that are as intuitive to use as they are fun. Whether you’re using Alexa to find your favorite song or you’re using navigation to avoid the construction up ahead, the Terrain lends a helping hand when you need it. Go for the essentials, or treat yourself with an advanced trim! Either way, the 2024 Terrain is loaded with modern tech to enhance the way you drive. From behind the wheel, drivers can expect greater satisfaction and increased peace of mind.
